Hello!

The ensemble „Sześć złotych” was founded by the students of Lviv National Academy of Music, named by Mykola Lysenko, January, 2007.

The name of the ensemble ‘Sześć złotych’  appeared a little unexpectedly and you will see why.„Sześć złotych”  means ‘Six coins of gold’ ‘Six’ because there are six of them. ‘Golden coins’ because we like ourselves, and there was some band in style of Lviv ‘The Golden’ in ancient times in one of Old Lviv suburbs.

On the 12th of January near Przemyśl  (Poland) a concert ‘Carols in Lviv Style’ made its debut. It was very successful.

The next program of the newborn ensemble included Lviv street songs and the first CD ‘It’s Lviv’ ("To Lwów") was recorded.

"Sześć złotych” continued its concert activity actively. They were broadening their repertoire. It consists of different directions of style: sacral and classical music, retro-hits, instrumental music, jazz standarts, opera arias, Polish patriotic songs. They recorded their second CD ‘Farewell, girl’ ("Bywaj dziewcze zdrowe").

They also pay attention to famous Christmas carols which were included to the third CD  ‘Carols in Lviv style’ ("Kolędowanie po Lwowsku").

The editor of Polish TV channel TVP Polonia Ewa Szakalicka made a film about the ensemble for a program ‘Culture without borders - Sześć złotych’. The ensemble constantly cooperates with the Polish radio in Lviv and weekly ‘Galicia courier’.

Their concerts took place in Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Byelorussia, Moldova and Latvia. They played in the festival in Przemyśl, in XIV artistic meetings in Hrubieszów (Poland), in the festival “Pisnia Kresova’ in Jarosław (Poland), and also in Presentations of Polish Culture  in Zielona Góra (Poland).

The ensemble „Sześć złotych” is a laureate of the XIII Festival of Kres Culture in Mrągowo (Poland), of the VI Festival of Polish Culture in Ukraine in Lutsk, Polish Spring in Moldowa in Kishinev.

Many times they took part in celebrations of Days of Lviv in Poznan, Kielce, Radom. Also performed in European Days of Good-neighbourhood ‘Kriluv – Krechov 835 km’

They visited Poles in Byelorussia twice being invited by the Head of Polish Union in Byelorussia pani Andżeliki Borys.

The ensemble was highly esteemed by the minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine Vasyl Vovkun during the Festival ‘Ukrainian Etnoculture’ (Kiev).

They were singing for Polish Members of Parliament in time of celebration of 70 years anniversary of Soviet Russian aggression towards Poland.

They shared the scene with such Polish stars as Bernard Ładysz, Katarzyna Łaniewska, Andrzej Beja - Zaborski, Stanislav Górka and Paweł Kukiz.

We will be glad to cooperate!
